World Built Environment Forum Week (WBEF) 2024 — which runs over four days, from 29th January to 1st February, 2024 — is an annual conference that brings together international businesses and individuals involved in shaping the built and natural environment — with the joint mission of “accelerating decarbonisation across the land and building life cycle”.

Now in its seventh year, the WBEF engages participants in critical discussions around decarbonisation and innovative solutions for improving impacts on cities, climate and biodiversity.

Throughout the four-day forum, there will be over 55 speakers, more than 20 interactive panels, keynotes and fireside chats, and at least 50 countries connecting through the event, to explore how standards, policy, investment, data and technology are changing the landscape across energy, infrastructure, and the land and building life cycle.

By the end of the week, WBEF Week 2024 will look to outline a practical approach to mobilising public and investor trust in new and emerging solutions.

Some of the key topics covered during the week include:

  • The technologies that will underpin industry decarbonisation practices in the future
  • How best practices and case studies of success can be scaled-up and replicated
  • How professional practice will change as we adopt a whole life cycle approach to carbon
  • How new energy systems under development will transform buildings and construction, infrastructure, and cities.
  • How SMEs working across the land and building lifecycle can manage the net zero transition
  • Emerging nature-related policies, investment, regulation, and standardisation, that will shape the business of cities and the built environment in the decade to come.

Those who join the free online event, will get to hear from the world’s most renowned and respected organisations, and discover analysis of the key global, regional and national events of 2023 and 2024.

There’s also the opportunity for people to share views with leading experts through live polls, discussion rooms and to take advantage of live Q&A sessions with senior leaders and global policymakers.
