The UK has an ageing population, and by 2030 one in five people will be 65 and over*. The generation already at, or approaching retirement age are the Baby Boomers, currently age 60 – 78.  They were the generation to redefine ‘the teenager’ in the 1960’s and now they are the generation redefining what the later chapters of life look like.

As stereotypes and stigma around old age are increasingly becoming out of date, ITN Business’ news-style programme, ‘Redefining Later Living’ will help to reinforce positivity around ageing well and embracing later life. It will showcase themes such as medical advancements, innovations and tech, housing designed for later years, the benefits of upskilling or retraining, and ways to have a fulfilled retirement.

Anchored by broadcaster and journalist Louise Minchin, the programme will feature organisations that are at the forefront of the sector, sharing reporter-led case study stories filmed on location. ‘Redefining Later Living’ will also feature contributions from industry thought leaders including Alzheimer’s Society, British Menopause Society and u3a.

‘Redefining Later Living’ will be hosted on a bespoke page on the ITN Business content hub, and will be supported by a digital launch, including a marketing campaign.

There are commercial opportunities for leading organisations to be featured in the programme and spearhead their own news item. If your organisation wants to share what you stand for and be part of this important conversation about ageing, please contact ITN Business’ Programming Director, Tamsin Luck.
