As the climate crisis intensifies, and extreme weather events become more common, buildings and critical infrastructure need to be adapted to remain fit for the future. But what does this mean exactly? And how can we bring in the necessary changes?

The UK Green Building Council is calling for climate resilience in the design and construction of the built environment to become a priority for decision-makers. To explore how this is being approached, and how important this is for saving lives over the coming years, we sat down with UK GBC Chief Executive, Smith Mordak.

“Climate change affects everybody, and affects all of these different social crises, technical crises, infrastructure crises — all of these things are interlinked. It’s important that whoever is in the next government is on top of this. This is quite likely the last government that’s going to have the opportunity to make the change that we need in time.”
