ITN Business to produce news-style programme ‘Women’s Health: The Future We Deserve’
Launching International Women’s Day, 8th March 2024
When it comes to healthcare, women are more frequently misdiagnosed, frequently taken less seriously when presenting with symptoms, and less frequently studied. The United Kingdom also has a shocking gender health gap when compared to neighbouring nations.
In light of this, ITN Business are producing ‘Women’s Health: The Future We Deserve’, a news-style programme anchored by veteran broadcaster Louise Minchin from the ITN London studio. The programme will showcase organisations and individuals that are actively working to challenge assumptions, positively address women’s health issues, close the gender health gap, and improve health outcomes for women. The programme will also cover key themes including FemTech, workplace health, and reproductive medicine.
Nina Harrison-Bell, Head of ITN Business said: “There remain shocking disparities in the way women are researched and treated in healthcare, especially in areas that are unique to women or in conditions that might present differently in women. We are keen to highlight the work of individuals and organisations who know this is preventable, and who are working diligently to correct the UK’s gender health gap.“
The programme will be hosted on a bespoke page on the new ITN Business hub (launching October 2023) and will be supported by extensive paid and organic digital campaign across social media platforms.
There are opportunities for organisations to be featured in the programme and lead their own news item We’re looking for organisations at the forefront of developments to take part and share their story. If this seems relevant to your work, then please contact Charlotte Lenman, Georgia Gerstein or Isabella Sharp.
